The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics thinks the nation’s economy will add 5.2 million jobs by 2034. Healthcare, technology and service jobs will be the fastest growing jobs. Changes in demographics, technology and the needs of consumers are driving the increases in those jobs.

Healthcare-related jobs top the list. An aging population and needs for long-term care are driving the increases. Those jobs are expected to grow to close to 740,000 by 2034.

That’s about 14% of the total number of jobs to be created by that date.

Registered nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants and managers of medical health lead the list of healthcare jobs. Jobs like software developers and other technology positions will add 267,000 to the employment roles by 2034.
