The Safeco Brand — Officially Retired

Liberty Mutual owns Safeco. A year ago the company said it was going to do away with the brand and bring most of its business in house. A week or so ago, Liberty Mutual officially retired Safeco.

All personal lines products are now sold by Liberty Mutual. Company president of independent agent distribution, Luke Bills said customers of Safeco’s personal lines can continue to work with their independent insurance agent and the policies will not change.
